If you're experiencing issues with Facebook or Instagram posts not publishing correctly through our platform, follow the step-by-step instructions below to fully re-authenticate your accounts and permissions. This will help ensure that our publishing tool can properly access and post to your Facebook Pages and Groups, as well as Instagram accounts.

Step 1: Remove Existing Accounts & App Permissions

In most cases, the issue is due to incomplete or outdated permissions during the Facebook authentication process. Here's how to reset everything:

  1. Remove all connected Facebook and Instagram accounts from within your VirtusNova dashboard.

  2. Go to your Facebook account and visit your Business Integrations page:
    https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools

  3. Locate and remove the VirtusNova app (or your branded app name if white-labeled).

  4. Confirm the removal. This will reset all permissions tied to your Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Step 2: Re-Authenticate with Full Permissions

Now that everything is cleared out, it's time to re-authenticate properly:

  1. Return to your Account Preferences in VirtusNova and add the Facebook Account.

  2. When prompted by Facebook, make sure to:

    • Select ALL pages and groups, even those you may not plan to use (this ensures full token access).

    • Allow all permissions (publishing, page management, content access, etc.).

  3. Once authenticated, select the specific Pages or Groups you wish to connect (e.g., "Sushilovers" or "Furniture Germany") and click Connect.

  4. ✅ Important: Skipping any permission or unchecking certain pages can prevent posts from being published. Always select everything during the permission step.

Step 3: Handling Multiple Facebook Accounts

If you're trying to add multiple Facebook accounts, make sure to follow this sequence:

  1. Log out of the current Facebook account at www.facebook.com before adding another.

  2. Log in with the second Facebook account and repeat the authentication steps in VirtusNova.

  3. Do this for each additional Facebook account you want to connect.

Required Facebook Page Roles

To successfully publish content, the Facebook account used for authentication must have one of the following roles on the Page:

  • Admin

  • Editor

❌ These roles do not have publishing permissions and will result in failure:

  • Moderator

  • Advertiser

  • Analyst

  • Jobs Manager

Still Not Working? Try This:

If you're still facing issues after re-authenticating:

  1. Create a second Facebook profile.

  2. Assign the second profile as an Admin on the problematic Facebook Page(s).

  3. Log in with that second profile and reconnect the Page in VirtusNova.
